I have a question about deed restrictions. I'm in section 6 on a corner lot. The building setback is 20' on each street side. I'd like to fence in the side yard and make the fence adjoin my backyard neighbor. Her fence goes out to 10' from the sidewalk edge. So where does the 20' start? from the curb or from the sidewalk? I had assumed the sidewalk. And can I ask for an exception so that I can make my fence join to hers? She's an original owner and the fence has definitely been there a long long time.
